The economic recession has, in its own right, seemingly manifested what some like to call aggro-tourism. What’s that, you ask? Why, traveling to relieve aggression, of course!

If vacations, in the past, were simply to get away from the drudgery of work and day-to-day routine, they are now even more significant ways of busting the stress of the crisis that has been affecting every aspect of our lives, to date.

Whether you’ve been made redundant, or watched your friends get the boot, the surmounting nervousness of not knowing what to do next is, and probably already has taken its toll.

Did you spend much time in the winter getting involved in snowball fights, to get rid of the passive aggression? It probably helped a little bit, didn’t it? So what can we suggest for the summer?

How about a food fight?

La Tomatina’ 08 by Dave Dove

On the last Wednesday of August, La Tomatina – an annual tomato throwing fiesta in the town of Buñol in the Valencia region of Spain – will see tens of thousands of participants flock together in a brutal battle of over-ripe tomatoes, lobbed at each other in the streets. There will be a week of festivities involving music, parades, dancing and fireworks, and on the night before the fight, there are supposedly paella making competitions, too!

So if you’re interested in getting smothered in tomato juice, or even tempted to throw some at a bunch of random people just for the sake of it, get booking! We have a handful of listings on the site that you could book a room with. Don’t let me beat you to it!

That’s all from me.
