Ask us anything: founders and VIP hosts take your questions LIVE from London

About Vivek Wagle

Ever wondered what it’s like to be a super successful Airbnb host? What crazy stories Airbnb travelers have? Or what starting your own company feels like?

Well, wonder no more. This Thursday, you’ll have the opportunity to get answers directly from Airbnb’s founders and from a VIP host panel at our London launch party.

We’ll have live video broadcasting from the event, so you can join in the fun no matter where you are.

Submit your questions between now and Thursday evening London time via Twitter (tagged #airbnblife), on our Facebook wall, or right here as a comment. Don’t be shy – the earlier you submit your question, the sooner we’ll see it and queue it up.

See you in London!

The security issues have gained prominence in this and must be adequately answered.

Dear AirBNB!As you are a "newborn" and rapidly developing company, there for sure must be tons of features and small enhancements to be implemented. I’ll be glad to present you some as I see them very useful.Personal lists, favorites, blacklists. One often needs to plan a trip to the same destination more then one time. When I have reviewed listings which are interesting for me, I’d definitely want not to do this job twice. Of course I may write down listing numbers somewhere along with my comments, but it’d be much more convenient to add a listing to some personal Favorites/Bookmarks list, with a possibility to add a free text comment as well as to see the conversations with the host (if exist). Also I need a personal blacklist in case I have reviewed the listing or contacted the host and found something inacceptable for me, such personally blacklisted items shouldn’t appear in the future searches by default (nevertheless, I must see an alert that "my blacklisted" are excluded, with a possibility to include them back or to view them separately). There should be a possibility to make custom personal lists, e.g.: "1br apartments for my regular trips to N city alone", "Interesting ideas for trips with my family" etc. Lists may be grouped by country automatically.E.g.:- Europe — NL — “My standard shortlist for regular trips” — FR — “Ideas for a honeymoon”…Others – “My best world destinations to visit”My blacklists: – Select by country / View allAnother useful feature I miss here is alerts: I want to enter a city, dates and maybe some other filtering conditions and submit to it to receive emails when some new listings appear which match my criteria.Hope that my ideas would be useful for your project!Regards,Alexander TretyakovIT Functional analystMoscow

My question:I’m a huge fan of the Airbnb system, and daydream about being on your growing time about once a day. Any tips or suggestions about how an aspiring designer/engineer can go about joining your project?
